10/02/2010- DAY 11
In our 40 Days for Life intention: Pray that when those representing abortion groups see volunteers for 40 Days for Life, they see ambassadors of Christ. Carol Everett, a frequent radio guest, former abortionist, and post-abortive woman was asked what turned her heart from death to life in Christ. She said, “It was unconditional love,” shown by a man who PRAYED daily for her in front of the abortion clinic she worked at.
Saturdays for us are always harder days to stand for the unborn and their
mothers as the prideful men show up yelling and screaming condemnation at the
women entering. They have told us they are not there to save babies. It’s a
horrible witness and works against our 40 Days efforts. Yet we never, never give
up; those screamers need our prayers too. Only God can change their hardened
hearts, just as we pray for the hardened hearts of the abortionist and workers.
Pray that we each will walk worthy of the calling with which we were called! Ephesians 4:1-2 “I beseech you to walk worthy
of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness, and gentleness,
with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love.”
In our reflection: We have been sent by Christ as an ambassador to love unconditionally those whom God seeks to “get out” of their bondage and sin. God has chosen us; our service is to be grounded and rooted in love. We must abide in God for daily instruction, and know that our purpose is to seek and to save that which is lost (Luke 19:10).
“Dear Heavenly Father, we are humbled that You have called us to be ambassadors of Christ in a world that is not our home. We pray that Your Holy Spirit will empower us to walk worthy of the calling. We pray that Your unconditional love will flow through us to those who desperately need Your saving grace. Amen”
