Abortionist Erin King and Yogendra Shah on-site. Our feet no sooner hit the pavement when we began rescuing babies inside the ultrasound van. Two young girls sought us out before entering the abortion mill; both were there to find out if they were pregnant. To their surprise, they were. We were able to scan and view an approx 32 week old baby and an approx 20 week old baby, both auditioning, both presumably males. After reassuring them, we went over resources and follow-up physician appointments. They hugged and thanked us as they walked towards their vehicles.
Only a few more abortion-bound mothers entered during our watch. We were reminded of how many of these mothers are trying to play God in determining the fate of their child. Some of us think we are our own gods as today’s 40 Days reflection reminds us. “You are not your own,” the apostle Paul declares in 1 Corinthians 6. Only God owns us, and only God can determine who gets to live and who gets to die. While God entrusts us to the care of one another, He does not allow any human being to own another. When asked, “When is a baby a baby?” the reply many times of the deathscorts and has been, “When the mothers says so,” as if the child is a piece of property. So too was the mindset of slave owners. The struggle over abortion is really a struggle over the dominion of God; good versus evil. The Christian individual, the Christian Church, cannot sit idly by when others declare that God is not God.
Tina, her toddler daughter, and her friend came inside our ultrasound van where we were able to confirm an approx. 18 week old baby. After much counseling and going over resources, she decided to keep her pregnancy and promised to follow-up with a physician. They thanked us and we walked them to their car.
we are Yours. Thank You for breathing into us the breath of life. Thank You for
claiming us as Your own. May our words and actions in defense of human life
proclaim to all the world that You alone are Lord of life and death, and Lord of
our freedom and our choices. We pray in Jesus Name, Amen.”
