In today’s 40 Days for Life reflection…many abortion-bound women feel justified in using chemical or surgical abortion as birth control just because abortion is legal in America . “If it’s legal it can’t be wrong, right?” But in God’s court, abortion is wrong. He calls it murder. We have an entire generation who has never known abortion to be illegal; a generation who has never been broken over the sin of abortion. As a result, we and society are dealing with the rippling effects of abortion- a whole generation of walking wounded. Have you ever seen or heard of so many anti-anxiety drugs, or women and men suffering with depression, addictions, and eating disorders to name a few.

We must stop the cycle of a society full of victims. Post abortion syndrome is real. Recovery begins when we admit we have sinned against Almighty God and done evil in His sight, and ask to be delivered from the guilt of bloodshed. A broken spirit is the key to accessing God’s glorious mercy and healing. That is why it is so important not only to be standing outside the killing centers with compassion and mercy beforehand, but also afterwards. We must tell the mothers who have taken their innocent babies’ lives for theirs that they must turn to Jesus when they are crying in their pillows at night. They must have true repentance in order for God to forgive them, to be healed and restored. So many women are in bondage to the sin of abortion. They are caught up in a perpetual cycle of abuse and co-dependence. God will not waste any sin we lay at His feet. Repent from sin and do no more.

Today we celebrated life as we stood in prayer joined by Monsignor Steffen on his birthday who was accompanied by a large group of prayer warriors outside this deathcamp. Thank you to those who answered the call on this sunny, but frigid day. As others stood and prayed, we met several abortion-bound mothers as they were walking up to the entrance. Many declined our offers to save their innocent babies. Most of the males laughed or mocked our pleas. Disproportionately, more Black Americans were leading their babies to their slaughter.

A young couple walked back out into our arms and confirmed they kept their baby. Praise God! After presenting Monsignor with a birthday cake and cards, we had a final blessing and prayer before they had to leave. We remained on the sidewalk and two young ladies came out. They confirmed to Daniel they saved their baby, were 7 weeks pregnant, and would be needing assistance. They accepted our literature and thanked us. These two babies that left alive will be celebrating a birthday and not a death day.

Thank you Jesus! Let our prayer be: “Father, we have turned our backs on You, Your principles, and Your Word. We have allowed man to usurp Your role as God over life and death. We come to You in brokenness and repent of our sins. We cry out in mercy and ask You to remove the scourge of abortion from our land. Use us as Your vessels, Lord, to bring the light and Your truth to our nation once again. In Jesus’ Name we pray.”
