In our 40 Days intention we pray for unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace, Ephesians 4:3.
It was a beautiful, warm spring
day as we set up our outreach to the abortion-bound mothers. There were only two
cars sitting and waiting for the slaughterhouse to signal for them to come
inside. We quietly prayed, and then began softly speaking to the clients as they
walked towards the entrance. After offering to help him and his female companion

There was something different this day; it was quiet. Just exactly what we prayed for came true…there was peace. Just then, a couple came over and spoke with us. They needed help. Judy and Jess prayed while we brought them inside the ultrasound van where, to their surprise, they viewed a 5 week old baby floating on the ultrasound screen. The boyfriend was engrossed in watching the baby on the screen. The mother was a little nervous, but we prayed with her, went over resources and physician follow-up, and offered to help her with other children if needed. They thanked us and we walked them to their car and watched them drive off. PTL!
Seeing peace in the womb always makes the enemy disheartened, but that is why our ministry is so vital where children are being murdered. The enemy also hates to see the unity between the 40 Days for Life prayer warriors in praying, fasting, and our daily vigil. He would love nothing more than to bring discord and disrupt our peaceful presence.
For 17 years we have warned those who come to pray that this is the enemy’s playground; he can use anything and anyone to do his work and break the bond of peace of our brothers and sisters who are Christ centered. Let us always be on guard with our hearts and minds exhibiting the love of Christ so that those watching will see Jesus in us and not Jesus being screamed at them. They will see the love in us and know that Christ must love them too, but hates the shedding of innocent blood.
Just then, the young girl and older male came back out from

“Heavenly Father, give us grace
in every situation to work toward unity. With humility, gentleness, and
patience, may we endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
There are hurting men and women, Lord, at the crossroads of life and death who
are looking for love and peace in their lives. May they see Christ in us and be
drawn to the abundant life that only He can give. It is in Christ’s precious
name that we pray.”
