Granite City , IL Report

10/24/2009                                                     DAY 32

“These six things the Lord hates. Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among the brethren.” Proverbs 6:16-19.

Pride seems to be a big obstacle, especially in our work outside these gates of hell. God wants our humility. When troublemakers appeared on the sidewalks a couple of years ago due to the constant publicity our active ministry was receiving, we were forced to deal with evil. We would like to think that the abortionist and abortion workers are evil, but the Holy Spirit showed us how evil and wicked men’s hearts were, especially “Christians”- those that profess Jesus with their lips, but hold hatred in their heart. Pride and anger drove them. The Holy Spirit assured us that the sin of pride would be on the top of God’s list on Judgment Day. He wants it to be clear that the sinfulness of man encompasses much more than the external sins that we easily point a finger at.

The sun felt good after two days of constant cold and rain once again. Mothers began going inside earlier than usual. The guard arrived just before 6:00 a.m. The early abortion-bound mothers were from two to three days ago. These were very late-term babies being killed.

It’s so easy to get caught up with emotion when you witness mothers and their accomplices coming back for days to remove the large babies from their wombs, when over at neonatal units in hospitals across the river, nurses and doctors are feverishly working to save premature babies that come into the world too soon. If the babies were born at the stage that these mothers are arriving to premeditatedly abort, they could survive outside the womb. This is senseless.

Today we were doing a Jericho March around the deathcamp, knocking on the hearts of this community with our witness, and pricking the minds of the abortion-bound mothers. Praise God! Regina and her friend came for an abortion. This mother wiped the tears from her face and came inside our ultrasound van, where to her surprise she viewed an approx 4-5 week old pregnancy nestled in her womb.

She broke out in smiles, and tears of joy filled her eyes. We went over the resources and instructions to follow-up with her physician. She hugged and thanked us as she left.

We barely sterilized the equipment when another was in the wings. She came inside our van where we were able to show her an ultrasound and go over resources and doctor follow-up.

BAM! A couple we spoke with earlier came back out, confirmed they were keeping their baby, accepted the literature from Daniel, and left. Thank you Jesus!

Another mother came back out in her pajama bottoms, confirmed she was keeping her baby, and drove off the lot. One save accepted the Bible as they pulled off the lot and thanked us.

The abortion mill was surrounded with prayer warriors. One male who was quite mouthy in the beginning that brought a girl for an abortion, seemed to have calmed down and came over and spoke to Stan and Rick for some time. He shared how he owned a strip-club over in Missouri and brought one of his girls (stripper) to abort the baby. He was just helping her out. It was good that the men witnessed to him. He left a little more enlightened.

We are dealing with a society of lost and godless, materialistic people. God has called us to seek out the lost and needy; to be the watchmen on the wall. The Apostle Paul spoke of false apostles in 2 Corinthians 11:12-15. Only a few masquerading remain on the sidewalk. Apostle Paul sums it up best in 2 Corinthians 10:17-18, “But he who glories, let him glory in the Lord. For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.”

May I remember: You cause the proud to fall and the humble You raise up.

“Let others have the honors, the glory, and the fame. I seek to follow Jesus, and glory in His name.” – Horton

Since the Fall 40 Days for Life campaign began, we in Granite City have witnessed approximately 45 babies saved from abortion, including a set of twins, one baby is up for adoption, and approximately 5 conversions have occurred to date. Alleluia!
