Granite City , IL Report

3/23/2011- DAY 15

In our 40 Days for Life intention, we pray that we will not become defeated by the enemy’s attacks, but rather call upon the Name of the Lord who is on our side and our helpmate in times of trouble.

Psalms 124:2,3,6,8  “If the Lord had not been on our side when men attacked us, when their anger flared against us, they would have swallowed us alive…Praise be to the Lord, who has not let us be torn by their teeth…Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

The enemy attacks in many ways but one of His favorites is SLANDER in the hopes of tarnishing our reputation and character and ultimately to defeat our good work for the Lord. It is interesting to note that it’s usually not the slander that causes us harm to our testimony, but our response to the slander. Proverbs 24:10 tells us, “If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.” But if we are applying God’s truths to our lives moment by moment, we are not swayed by the lies of the enemy and we will continue to be strong. Standing on the front lines armed with the truth places you in the battlefield for the mind. Unkind words from a protestor or vicious lies in the local paper about who you are and what your mission is can indeed be hurtful. Yet, rather than give into defeat, it’s time to shine for the Lord, standing firm as you call on Him to defeat the enemy.

Romans 8:31 “If God be for us who would be against us?” Be strong and be of good courage! Let’s continue to stand strong for those little ones who need us most.

It was so disheartening to view that most of the cars retuning this day were from the evening before, especially the Kansas family. She was very late-term. God, touch their hearts. At least we brought some honor and dignity to those being led to their slaughter this day, no matter the cost.

“Lord, help us to ignore the verbal attacks of the enemy and instead turn to You, our refuge and strength. Help us to find shelter in the blessed promises and provisions of Your word. Thank You that no enemy can defeat us, and we praise You knowing that nothing can separate us from Your love. In the Name of Jesus we come to You, Amen.”
