In our 40 Days for Life intention we pray that we may absorb the truth that God is paying attention to us and to each human life, personally, and individually. As each abortion-minded mother approaches the entrance, we prayerfully and softly let her know how precious her life and her unborn baby’s life are to God. They are God’s handiwork made individually and in God’s own image. No two others are alike. They are masterpieces of God’s creation, and they cannot be duplicated or replaced. The human being surpasses the beauty of all other created things.
At our Life conference we were speaking at, we pointed this same value
out to the audience. The pastor who hosted our engagement shared his personal
testimony of having been adopted and went on to become a pastor who honors the
sanctity of life. In between each speaker this day, the pastor expressed what I
called, “Little nuggets of wisdom,”
honoring life along his life’s journey. In our speech we pointed that out and
how endearing his testimony and faith is, especially today. We then pointed to
different individuals in the audience and asked, “Where the world would be
without Pastor or Angela had our mothers aborted us? Would we be having this
event? Can you imagine there would be no one outside the
There is no way to adequately describe how God feels about us as human beings. Perhaps the closest we can come is to contemplate the thoughts of a new mother as she gazes into the face of her newborn baby for the first time. God cares for Life, and as His followers so we too should take the time to consider the life He has created and called upon for us to love and protect. Standing daily as the last lines of defense for little baby boys and baby girls, we are their voice and at least we, the rescuers, bring honor and dignity to their little lives and we let them know that they did not die alone.
