 Ezekiel 22:3-4, 6-9 “And say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: O city that brings on herself doom by shedding blood in her midst and defiles herself by making idols, you have become guilty because of the blood you have shed and have become defiled by the idols you have made. You have brought your days to a close, and the end of your years has come. Therefore I will make you an object of scorn to the nations and a laughingstock to all the countries…See how each of the princes of Israel who are in you uses his power to shed blood…In you are slanderous men bent on shedding blood…”

 

            April 16, 2007: a day that will live in infamy. That is, another day that will live in infamy. Today we witnessed the worst shooting massacre in our nation’s history, which occurred at Virginia Tech University . Yesterday, this teaching institution was home to approx 25,000 students. Today it is a crime scene.

            The college campus came under siege in a two-three hour period. Approximately 32 lay wounded and dying as one gunman turned a college dormitory and hall into a modern day slaughterhouse. Reportedly, a professor who died valiantly by attempting to keep the gunman out of his classroom by holding the door shut as the gunman fired rounds of ammunition through it, was a Nazi Holocaust survivor. It has been rumored that the doors were chained shut so students could not escape from the malice that was about to occur.

            Today, America saw evil once again. We have said this before, we don’t need to worry about Al Qaeda flying airplanes into buildings. We are doing a pretty good job of destroying our nation from within. When you remove God from public institutions, you let the devil in. Brian Rohrbough has been speaking out about the murderous spirit in our nation. He lost his son eight years ago in the Columbine shootings.

            First Columbine, then the Amish schoolhouse, now Virginia Tech. Why are we not surprised? What is God trying to show us? I believe we are slowly seeing the cancer and the metastasizing of this cancer that was brought on by the rampant immorality within our society. It has led to the desensitizing, the slow death of the conscience of our nation. God abhors murder, in particular the shedding of innocent blood. The murderer has done an injustice and that murderer comes under a curse: the curse of bloodguilt. It carries devastating consequences to men, communities, and nations. It has a voice and it cries out for justice.

            Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day, the 62^nd anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi deathcamps in the Nazi Holocaust, where there too, millions of human lives were taken and destroyed. Again I ask, is anyone out there surprised at the happening today? Can there be a relationship between the lack of sanctity of life and the campus massacre today?

            Our nation has stood by and overseen the massacre of the innocents and over 50 million have been slaughtered in modern day slaughterhouses on our watch for the past 34 years. When you sow bloodshed in the womb why are we so surprised when we are reaping it in the streets, and in this instance on a college campus? The slow progression of this culture of death is due to the fact that life has become cheap, no longer sacred. When you take a life for your own life, life becomes worthless.

            Geraldo Rivera a reporter at Fox News told colleague Greta Van Susteren, “The answer to this is that we need to increase security on campuses.” My dear friend Geraldo, don’t you know unfortunately there’s no police force big enough to fight the evil within our nation?

            And of course, we will point a finger at the NRA who coincidentally held their convention here in St. Louis , Missouri this past weekend. Guns don’t kill. People that pull the trigger do.

            When you‘re rippin ‘em off in the womb, we shouldn’t be surprised to see bloodshed in colleges and our schools. These both should be considered horrible. “Bloodshed follows bloodshed.” Hosea 4:2. Winston Churchill during the Nazi Holocaust in one of his speeches said, “Never, never, never again…” but yet, it is happening again because we have failed to remember our history. The American and British forces liberated the Nazi deathcamps from this evil where they uncovered unspeakable atrocities. Those same unspeakable atrocities are happening everyday behind nice looking facades called abortion mills in every city within our nation.

            And the American Church just stands by. How can we liberate the baby killing deathcamps when the Lord’s Army is AWOL? When you live by the sword, you die by the sword.

 

            Our hearts go out to the families that have been affected by this campus massacre, but until we realize human life is sacred, this is only the beginning. The human death toll will continue to rise unless we call for an end to child killing.  “If My people who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14.
