Mother’s
Day Tribute May
2007 By
Angela Michael The
most beautiful word in our language is “Mother.” Her
tender hands wrought for us even before we entered the world. She
was there when we took our first steps. She
pushed and prodded, encouraged and guided. A
mother’s love means a life’s devotion, a life’s sacrifice, with long
hours, little rest, and no combat pay. A
mother is the only person on earth who can divide her love among twelve
children and each child still have all her love. She
is the gardener planting seeds of faith, truth, and love. A mother bears
much of the responsibility for her children. Her hope is that they grow up
healthy and strong, with integrity and good character and stand out as light
in a world of darkness. How
their mother loved them will determine how they love others. Happy
is a mother’s heart when her wishes are answered and her children are
happy to know they contributed to her noble purpose. And to her insanity.
But like a true mom, she is enjoying every minute of it. Motherhood
is the proudest and noblest of all professions. It doesn’t take the
recognition of magna cum laude, but holds higher distinction than any
collegiate degree possible. Mothers
hold their children’s hands for just a little while but their hearts
forever. Where your treasure is, there also will your heart be. “I
love you mom.” For
where you are is what matters most, because
to us that will always be home. Happy
