The
Death Rattle of Hope Clinic
The Midwest’s largest, late-term
abortion mill in
Granite City
,
Illinois
, where once over 13,104 babies were
executed annually; now, less than 4,160 in the past year.
God
is giving us the victory over this once bustling abortion mill. The
murder capital of the
Midwest
is being reduced to almost nothing. When Small
Victories first started its daily ministry over 18 years ago,
this
Mecca
of the
Midwest
killed between 300-350 babies weekly.
At
the height of this chop shop killing spree, we documented on one
particular Saturday morning in 2002
approximately 82 clients; most inside and quite a few outside
of this slaughterhouse waiting in their vehicles to be serviced. One
Black American woman, who was 20 weeks pregnant, answered me when I
inquired, “Why are you all sitting in your cars?” She told us
there was an occupancy law and only 65 people could be inside this abortion
clinic at a time; so almost twenty of the scheduled abortion
clients were waiting on the parking lot in their cars. Unbelievable.
This
past week only 40 abortions were performed. The abortion mill used to
do that many in one day alone. Lawsuit after lawsuit is causing this
mill to bleed. There is a constant employee turnover and they are
existing on a skeleton crew at this posting. Hope Clinic for Women has
been trying desperately to find a new abortionist for 7 years and
can’t do it! Praise the Lord! Also,
we have had several personal conversions of former pro-choice
employees. One in particular was recently the only licensed nurse. She
blindsided me as we were praying, placed her arm around me, and
whispered in my ear, “Thank you, Angela. This is my last day. Your
ministry has been a powerful witness to me and others. I’m going off
to do what real nurses should be doing.” She hugged me, walked off
the premises, and never returned.
This past week, 8 babies were saved from abortion and we
performed 5 on-site ultrasounds on abortion-bound mothers. 3,650
babies have been saved since January 2000 and 36 of these babies have
been put up for adoption. We currently have 2 saved babies up for
adoption that are due in September and December. Matthew
7:16 “By their fruit you will know them.”

So, what has caused this decrease in abortions? Not one law has been
passed. Even though we have parental notification on the books here in
Illinois
, this law, like so many others, is not being enforced. It’s hung up
in court again. But God is faithful. He answers prayers. Prayers
change things.
These are the frontlines of the battle. This is where the rubber meets
the road. Jesus did not wait for the lost and needy to come into his
office; He met them where they were at. He went into the streets. The
battle against abortion will never be won in the halls of Congress. It
can only be won in the streets where children are dying. We must fight
it from the bottom up, not from the top down. As the victory line
approaches, we must run “through” the tape.
In seeing the end, as this baby
killing mill draws it’s last breath, we must not let down our
effort. Therefore, we run through the tape and onto the next, in
keeping mind these are small victories that lead to huge ones.
