Update
on “Two Down...Two to Go” Legal Issues
A story for a time
such as this. This begins in 2001, when a young
31-year-old woman almost dies from a botched abortion at
the Hope Clinic for Women. Safe and legal you say? Over
three-thousand women have died since abortion was
legalized in 1973, and hundreds of thousands injured or
maimed through safe, legal abortions!
We had already been helping abortion-bound women
outside Hope Clinic for seven years when this happened.
But now the mighty Goliaths (Hope Clinic for Women and
attorney Mark Levy) were going to destroy the little
Davids that had cost them one million dollars in
business. Ephesians 5:11
“Have nothing to do with fruitless deeds of darkness,
rather expose them.”
The Goliaths filed a slanderous lawsuit against
the Davids and from then on, continued to file other
frivolous lawsuits, use the local police to intimidate
and harass, and even be so bold to say, “I’ll take
their inheritance and every penny they have,” to
defeat the Davids. Sure, it would have been much easier
to stay home and not show up for the battle, or we could
have chosen to be like David’s army crouching down in
the ditches with our knees knocking. “You
cannot go against this Philistine and fight with him,
for you are only a youth, while he has been a warrior
from his youth.” 1 Samuel 17:33.
There is one thing awfully important that the
Goliaths didn’t know. That’s when you stand for
truth and righteousness like David did, your God and
Savior J-E-S-U-S will deliver you from the hand of your
enemies. “The Lord who
delivered me from the claws of the lion and the bear,
will also keep me safe from the clutches of this
Philistine.” 1 Samuel 17:37. And just like the
Bible story, God was with us. “You
come against me with sword and spear and scimitar, but I
come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty.” 1
Samuel 17:45. After seven lawsuits, much slander
and persecution, blood, sweat, and tears, the Kings of
Kings trounced the Goliaths, using the little Davids.
After a seven year battle, “multitudes
have learned that it is not by sword or spear that the
Lord saves... For
the battle is the Lord’s and He shall deliver you into
our hands.” 1 Samuel 17:47.
Not only did He deliver us from the Lion’s den
and grant us favor in the courts, but He gave us a
platform to continue to save babies, help women, stand
for righteousness, and speak the truth. God also blessed
us with a new addition to our family, a beautiful baby
daughter.
Pray for us, as we have one last battle to fight,
and remember that Jesus is Lord and His laws reign! Psalm
144, “Blessed be the Lord, my Rock, who trains my
hands for battle, my fingers for war. He is my loving
God and my fortress, my stronghold, my deliverer, my
shield in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under
me.”
-Daniel
