Shining God’s Light~ Mariah’s letter

Thank you Small Victories

This is the family we helped this past spring outside Hope abortion mill in Granite City .  I briefly spoke with the mother going back inside. The husband called the mother on her cell phone while she was inside the abortion clinic and she told her husband that there was a woman outside offering an ultrasound and free help and was praying for Mariah. The husband then told his wife to “grab his daughter and take her to the woman that was standing outside praying for her.”

"If I can throw a single ray of light across the path of another; if I can aid some soul to a clearer side of life and duty, and thus bless my brother; if I can wipe from any human cheek a tear, I shall not have lived in vain while here."

            Be encouraged ~Angela

Dear Angela Michael,

In April 2008 my mother, boyfriend, and I all stepped out of Hope Clinic and walked into your van. There were you and your daughter and you gave me my very first ultrasound. I had no idea that I was that far along and that the baby had been that well developed.

I had been keeping my pregnancy a secret and it was just the day before when I revealed to both of my parents the truth. I don’t think I had felt a more painful hurt knowing that I had broken my parents’ hearts so bad, being their baby girl at just 16 getting pregnant. I never cried so hard in my life, and I still cry to this day thinking about how bad I hurt them.

But I do cheer up when I think about how big of a light you and your family have been to mine. It was you who told me to look at this baby as a blessing and I have ever since you said that.

It’s funny how God can put a complete stranger in your life that you’ve only seen twice and make them out to be one of the biggest blessings that you’ve received.

The food was so delicious at your husband’s family restaurant that you guys treated me, my parents, my boyfriend, and my future in-laws to. And your family was just so beautiful. I just want to say thank you for all that you have done for me and my family. You truly are an angel sent from God to help my mom and especially me see that keeping this baby was the right thing to do.

Oh yeah, I’m 8 months pregnant now and my doctor made my due date September **. I’m going to have my baby at ********Hospital in ******* Missouri . They also said that I was having a girl.

I went to the doctor today, but it was two weeks ago when they told me the baby weighed approx 4 lbs 11 oz. I’m going to name her Keira Lavern. My sister picked out Keira and Lavern is her father’s mother’s name.

My mom just threw a baby shower for me on Saturday, August the 9th. It went really nice. I never had a birthday party where people bring me gifts in my life, so when I received all of the beautiful, thoughtful gifts, I couldn’t help but realize how much love me and my unborn child have and how much God has blessed, truly blessed.

But as far as things go, I’m pretty much set for the baby. There’s still little things I need to buy like little brushes and combs, socks, and baby detergent, but I’m so fortunate that God blessed me with a job this summer being pregnant that I can afford to buy little things and be able to provide for my new arrival.

Again thank you so much Angela and may God continue to shine His light on you and your beautiful family.

                                                                                                Sincerely,

                                                                                                            Mariah
