Granite City , IL Report

3/24/2011- DAY 16
Calendar-wise it was the third day of Spring, but the weather that greeted us outside this abortion mill begged to differ…it was winter again. Blustery conditions with 30 degree temperatures. Just cold and dreary. As we set up our pregnancy outreach, the abortion-minded mothers began running inside the mill to kill their babies. We were a small remnant today. Many more of the moms going inside were Black American. It is so disheartening to see their race self-destructing right in front of them. Many offered various excuses as we tried to softly offer them another way out of their situation with our ultrasound van and adoption resources.

In our 40 Days for Life intention: “May the mystery of Incarnation increase our zeal for defending life.” If only the mothers and dads of these unborn babies could see and realize the precious humanity growing inside of them, they could grab onto the idea that we are created in God’s own image and a new love would be rekindled in their hearts towards the Lord. In the womb, Divinity met humanity, and God the Son was born into the world.

We told the mothers contemplating their unborn child’s fate, “Your baby is full of endless possibilities. All your baby needs is a chance, the same chance you received. You will never know what your baby was destined to be if you take its life away. Your baby could be the next leader of our nation, the physician who discovers a cure for cancer, or the next Lebron James, a basketball champion. But their story has not been written yet. They deserve a chance. Just like baseball, everyone deserves a chance at bat.” : )

Praise God, one Illinois couple we spoke with earlier came back out, confirmed they kept their baby, and drove off the lot.

“Heavenly Father, You have made the womb a special place. Help us to hold fast to the sanctity of this first home of humanity, remembering the wonderful mystery that God inhabited the womb of a young woman and came forth as the Savior and Deliverer of the world. We ask this in Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.” ~Angela
