3/16/2011- DAY 8

It was sunny, but cold as we witnessed abortion-bound mothers and their drivers arriving and walking towards the entrance of this abortion mill. “Please reconsider. What can we do together to save that baby?” They stood stoic as they waited to sign in.

In our 40 Days intention we pray for a renewal of our zeal to offer generous help to the unborn and their families, just like our ministry has for the past 18 years outside this deathcamp. We tell the abortion-minded mothers, “Whatever it takes to save that baby,” we will do. Now many of our teammates and supporters know that statement to be so true.

The Church cannot tell girls they are pro-life and do little or nothing to support them in a crisis situation. That’s why the abortion mill is there, because unfortunately, abortion-minded mothers felt like they had no other recourse, and that nobody really cared about them, let alone the babies; because resources were not available, or pregnant girls did not qualify or “jump through all the hoops” so to say, to obtain help on the spot. We know this to be true. In years past there was no safety net for unplanned pregnancies, so abortion seemed to be their only answer. But that is why we are here! Not only have we taken homeless pregnant girls into our home until housing was available, but we have also adopted babies in order to save their lives. Saying you’re pro-life does not save lives; doing pro-life does.

Today it was so disheartening to view cars with personal plates indicating they played sports and knowing that unborn baby they took inside the abortion mill will never have an opportunity to play. Life is like baseball; everyone deserves a chance at bat. There was also a car parked on the edge of the parking lot with a pair of a small child’s sneakers hanging from the visor. There is a pair of little feet who will never fill these shoes because someone else denied them that right. Maybe they thought they couldn’t afford another baby? Or they couldn’t find the time or have enough love for another child. However, God always makes a way and puts the right people across those paths to help others. Material things seem so insignificant when we are talking about an innocent life. Proverbs 3:27 “Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do so.” Some things are so obvious that we don’t even need to pray except to ask of God forgiveness and the power to do what so obviously needs doing.

“God, forgive us when we try to explain away the obligation we have to help others who need help. Enable us to not devalue them because they are in the circumstance that they are in, but to see them for what they are, those, who like us, were formed by Your hand in their mother’s womb.” In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
