Saturday- approx 24 babies killed     MO, IL   2 babies saved   Yogendra Shah abortionist

A Catholic youth group from St. Louis joined our ministry on the sidewalks this day. Also joining our outreach were some long time friends and their spouses from Missouri, Pastor Steve and Pastor Sonny. They gently preached the Word of God outside the slaughterhouse after and in-between the abortion-bound mothers arriving. The slaughterhouse was making up for yesterday’s revenue loss with the increased death toll today.

Praise God! Our efforts and prayers were not in vain. At different times a mother and her daughter from Missouri came back out and accepted our literature where they confirmed they were keeping their baby. Another Black American couple came out later and confirmed they had kept their 16 week old baby and drove off the parking lot. Alleluia!

Approx 24 babies killed, 3 babies saved, 4,655 babies saved since January 2000 and
44
babies have been adopted through Small Victories.

                                                                       God's Calling

If you go to our website and scroll down “Articles,” you will come across one we wrote where God used a boloney sandwich to save a baby scheduled to die in Granite City at Hope Clinic several years ago. It is titled “Miracle on 21st Street”. Anyways, today’s lesson is that there is nothing special about us, but God often uses ordinary people to do extraordinary work. The difference is that we make ourselves available and we listen when He calls. The other day we were preparing and dreading, due to the bitter cold, to make the daily pilgrimage to the City of Slaughter to stand in the gap for the least of these. I heard the phone ring and before I could get to it, I heard an emergency operator leaving a message, or so I thought. In reality, she was trying to transfer an emergency call from a distraught pregnant girl and thinking no one was there to take the call, she disconnected. But I picked the phone up and said, “Hello,” and by the grace of God, the pregnant girl was still on the line and in a soft voice she answered, “Yes ma’am, I’m here.” Thank You, Lord.

Now, I have not been on a pregnancy hotline for years. I had to semi-retire with the additions of our youngest children, so this really was a miracle for this pregnant girl to get through to us. Her name was “Brianna,” and she thought she was calling to schedule her abortion. I then began inquiring about a little history and her reasoning.  She felt isolated. She was overwhelmed: Brianna already had two children, ages two and three, and an irresponsible boyfriend who was a womanizer just acting like a dog going from woman to woman, and she was tired of it. I began counseling her. Understandably, any woman in her shoes would feel dumped on. I offered the option of adoption. “Oh no, I couldn’t do that,” she said, “But you can kill your baby?” No response. Every time I mentioned God, she got a little testy. This went on for over an hour. I told of our adoption story and our youngest son Isaac. She said, “You’re going to make me cry.” “No, that’s the Holy Spirit.” Finally she admitted she was taking it out on the baby. “It’s not the baby’s fault who its parents are. That baby is as much a victim as you.”

All through the conversation, she mentioned how much she loved her other children. I then asked her, “If you had to choose, which one of your other children would you kill? The two year old or the three year old?” “I can’t. I couldn’t kill them,” she responded. “Then how can you kill the one growing in your womb?  That baby is as precious as the other two you have.” She calmed down. She cried, she vented, but she stopped thinking about killing her child, and we talked about keeping her unborn baby and  all the resources including counseling, medical care, and mentoring we could help with.

Long story short: Brianna apologized for ever thinking or trying to make her abortion appointment and thanked us for picking up that phone. We exchanged contact information and she promised to follow up with us. I got off the phone and began praising God. It’s because of You, Lord, that baby is alive.  The other half of our ministry reported in with the good news that the slaughterhouse in Granite City was CLOSED! It’s not a wasted trip. I shared with him what just took place over the phone, and he, too, rejoiced and even went over to Planned Parenthood to save babies.

You see, it’s not about us. It’s about the Lord working through us, totally surrendering our lives and being available. It is His light shining through our lives that glorifies God and draws others to Him, so that when others look at our lives, what matters is that they see God, not us.

 Be encouraged,
